I met Sarah last Christmas at my husbands company Christmas party. Looking back now I realize how lucky I was that I was seated right across from her. We spent dinner laughing and talking… realizing how much we had in common. Sarah’s an amazingly smart lady… a Math Teacher (calculus anyone?)… and at the time she was teaching at Emerald Ridge High school where I had taken senior pictures for some of her students. Of course we talked about our children. She’s an active Mom of 2 children, coaching and carting them off to sports. With 2 children … she has a busy life! We both go to Calvary Community Church … and know a lot of the same people. And of course we have the husband’s who work together in common! We had LOTS to talk about! As we left the Christmas party I said to my husband – what a delight Sarah was… and how much I enjoyed her.
Fast forward to March, 2014. If you know Sarah – you remember exactly what a sucker punch it was to learn she was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. There are just no words to describe how you felt that day. Unfair, horrified, devastated… no… those words are inadequate. That’s when the praying began, and hasn’t stopped. We pray for Sarah, we pray for her husband Josh, her children, her extended family. We wish there was more we could do to help.
Today Sarah is fighting the battle of her life. Every day, we send up prayers to our Heavenly Father on behalf of the Cypher Family pleading for a miracle, and then we wonder if there is something more we can do to help. I’m hoping that like me… you’ve also wondered “what can I do to help?” As a Photographer I use the giftings that I have. I brainstormed and came up with a fundraiser that I believe benefits both the Cypher Family and those who donate.
On November 23rd I’m doing a fundraiser for the Cypher Family. I will be doing Mini Portrait Sessions where 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Cypher family. It’s a win-win… you get to support the Cyphers and you will also receive in return beautiful images of YOUR family. Use them for your Christmas Cards, print them and send them to family, enlarge them and hang them on your wall… above all else, be thankful for every single person in your images and hug them and hold them close.
Mini Session time slots will go quickly. To book your session Click on the contact form button and ask for a “Session for Sarah” or call me at 253-606-4164. Not available on November 23, 2014? Donations are also being accepted. You can also donate a session to someone else!
Mini Portrait Sessions Include:
25 minute session
8 Downloadable digital files with print release
Sessions will be held at Wright Park in Tacoma – (nearby Photo Studio available for inclement weather)
$200 Minimum Donation – with 100% of the proceeds to the Cypher Family
Let’s do GOOD together!
Blessings!
